Girls and Boys Recreational Program Child Development experts agree that the first six years of a child's life for the foundation for all learning. These first six years have more impact in a child than his or her 12 to 16 years of formal education. This is the time to achieve goals, acquire self-esteem, develop social skills, and establish communication and trust. Lakeshore currently has classes for both boys and girls starting at the age of two. Though all age groups are covered in our wide variety of classes, girls are able to begin competition on our Level 3 Team at the age of five.
